PokerStars will be looking for a bigger trophy cabinet after picking up yet another glittering statuette at last night´s International Gaming Awards ceremony.
The 7th annual International Gaming Awards was held last night at the Savoy Hotel in Central London and, once again, PokerStars had an impact on the destination of the most prestigious awards.
Poker Operator of the Year in 2013, PokerStars doubled-up on the achievement last night, and Eric Hollreiser – Head of Corporate Communications for the Rational Group – vowed that it would not be last time the company was recognised by the industry for its contribution to the gaming industry:
We’re proud to take down this award for the second straight time Hollreiser said in his acceptance speech,
and we’ll be doing everything we can in the next twelve months to make a strong run at a three-peat.
A Very Special Twelve Months for PokerStars
Even by their exceptional standards, 2013 was a very special twelve months for PokerStars. During the year they hosted the two largest online poker festivals of the year (WCOOP and CSOOP), ran the biggest poker tournament in history (225,000 players) and dealt their 100th billion hand of poker in June.
The company also added credibility and confidence to their market brand with the significant signings of tennis superstar Rafa Nadal and former soccer great Ronaldo as ambassadors for PokerStars, and increased the range of games players were able to enjoy on the PokerStars client with the introduction of the high-variation games such as 5-Card Omaha and Courchevel.
Undoubtedly PokerStars remains the player´s choice on online poker site – with traffic on the site matching all the other leading poker rooms combined – and now it has been recognised once again by the industry. For poker players who have not yet experienced the superb product offered by the company, we have compiled a comprehensive (and honest) PokerStars review of what awaits once you sign-up to play online poker at the site.
